
Prof. Dr. Bayram Ali Ersoy was born in 1974 in the Bayrampaşa district of Istanbul. His family originates from Isparta. He completed his undergraduate education in the Mathematics Teaching Program at the Faculty of Education of Middle East Technical University. He received his master’s and doctoral degrees from the Department of Mathematics at the Institute of Science of Yıldız Technical University.
Between 2008 and 2009, he conducted postdoctoral academic research at University of Cincinnati in the United States. Prof. Dr. Ersoy continued his academic career at the Department of Mathematics of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Yıldız Technical University, where he was awarded the title of Associate Professor in 2012 and Professor in 2017.
In addition to his academic work, Prof. Dr. Ersoy has held various administrative positions. He served as Coordinator of International Relations, Deputy Director of the Institute of Science, Head of the Department of Personnel, Secretary General, and Advisor to the Rector at Yıldız Technical University. He also served as Head of the Department of Mathematics.
Since 2017, Prof. Dr. Ersoy has been a member of the editorial board of the journal Italian Journal of Pure and Applied Mathematics. He has authored numerous scientific articles published in national and international peer-reviewed journals. His research interests focus on commutative rings and algebras, group theory and its generalizations, and fundamental sciences. Prof. Dr. Ersoy has also authored national books in the field of algebra and has supervised numerous master’s and doctoral theses.
Prof. Dr. Bayram Ali Ersoy was appointed as the President of the Assessment, Selection and Placement Centre (ÖSYM) on 4 August 2022 by the President of the Republic of Türkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. He has good command of English. He is married and has two children.
